Tom Selleck’s eyebrows and moustache at last night’s Emmy awards, and a kitty cat emoticon tee shirt.
So alike, and yet only one was dumb enough to back McCain in 2008.

in animals, animation, bad hair, lookalikes, politicsJackie DeShannon is 66 today! Here she is on Shindig, from 1965… with choreography by the American Psychiatric Association.
And now, Celebritweets Theatre.
Another cartoon, why of course! It’s Saturday… here’s one from Mark Fiore.
Marsha Hunt, in a rare singing turn in 1941′s “Unholy Partners” — watch for Edward G. Robinson to pop up! Marsha is still with us… she’ll be 93 in October. I love her in “Smash-Up, The Story of a Woman.” The gawker is William T. Orr, who married Jack Warner’s stepdaughter, Joy Page, giving rise to the phrase “The son-in-law also rises.”

So alike, and yet only one is sarcastic and sounds like Paul Lynde.

William Hanna of Hanna-Barbera was born 100 years ago today. By 1937 he was working at MGM and met his lifelong collaborator, Joe Barbera.
They opened their own studio in 1957, and the rest is animation history: The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Huckleberry Hound, Scooby Doo, Yogi Bear, The Smurfs, etc.
This was their first effort in 1940, Puss Gets the Boot, which became Tom and Jerry. This cartoon won them their first Oscar nomination.
Hanna died in 1991 at age 90.

in animation,art,books,stuff I like,whateverHere’s a queen who doesn’t like to get a Mountie behind.
A cranky-looking Betty Deuce popped on this pink corker of a bonnet to visit the Human Rights Museum in Winnipeg on Saturday.
The Mountie is someone she met on Craigslist.
