in bad hair, birthdays, gorgeousness, kennedys, old peopleCaroline Kennedy, 53, as she appeared Friday at a panel discussion of her mother Jacqueline Kennedy’s recorded interviews and her father’s legacy, as seen at George Washington University yesterday in Washington, DC.
Caroline’s son, John “Jack” Schlossberg, 18, was photographed in May at the Kennedy Library in Boston during a ceremony to announce the name of the US Navy aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.
The photo of his grandfather behind him was taken when JFK was a Navy Lieutenant in roughly 1942, at age 26.

in kennedys, little known facts, politics, righteousnessJoan Kennedy, who turned 75 on Sept. 9th, with her bereaved grandchildren, Max Greathouse Allen, 14, and Grace Kennedy Allen, who turned 17 three days after their mother Kara Kennedy’s death at age 51 on Sept. 16th, as seen outside the Holy Trinity Church in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.
Things change.

Jacqueline Bouvier and John Fitzgerald Kennedy were married on this day in 1953. The bride was 24, the future President was 36. The ceremony was held at St. Mary’s Church in Newport, Rhode Island. Jackie wore an ivory silk taffeta gown created by Anne Lowe, an African-American designer from Alabama — the dress required 50 yards of taffeta and took Lowe two months to make.

The dress is now on display at the Kennedy Library in Boston.

Jackie carried a bouquet of white and pink orchids with gardenias. The church was decorated with pink gladioli and white chrysanthemums.
The 800 guests at the ceremony swelled to 1,200 for the reception, held at Jackie’s stepfather’s estate, Hammersmith Farm. The receiving line took two hours.

Their first night as husband and wife was spent at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City, after which they departed for a two-week honeymoon in Acapulco, where Jack caught a ten-ft. sailfish that would later decorate a wall in the White House.
They had a little over 10 years together.

in kennedys, little known facts, remembering, stuff I likeThe has-been “Dancing with the Stars” cast for 2018 has been announced.
Former actress and perennial arrestee Lindsay Lohan said, “Fhrwmp druh fwahncinh!” as she is no longer able to speak through her mouth. Maria Shriver, looking more like mother Eunice every year, will represent the Kennedys. Back from the brink Leo DiCaprio, fresh from losing 80 lbs. on Jenny Craig, will dance. Celeb mom Jackie Stallone, 96, cryogenically frozen since 2016, will be thawed for the show.
Former child star and transgender advocate Justina Bieber, former Washington DC Mayor Chris Brown in his first appearance since his arrest and rehab, Gingers Have Rights leader Rupert Grint, Anti-Scientology crusader and binky advocate Suri Cruise, now 12.
Suri’s mother, deprogramming expert Katie Holmes, will attempt to dance, along with game show host David Beckham, internet superstar Gay Carrington, and a “Dancing” first: a hologram of Princess Diana at age 58.

in dancing with the stars, i make shit up, kennedys, pearl clutchSenator Ted Kennedy died two years ago today… it’s like time just drives off a bridge.
His ex wife, Joan Kennedy, is still living.
She looks as good as Tony Bennett’s hair (right), as seen at Ted’s funeral.
It seems like yesterday.
And now, here’s Shirley Bassey.

Yousuf Karsh photographed just about every major celebrity of his time, including Albert Einstein, Andy Warhol, and President Kennedy.
He was born in eastern Turkey in 1908, and fled to Syria with his family during the Armenian genocide. He eventually moved to Canada to work with his photographer uncle. A master of studio lighting, he published 15 books of his photos during his 93 years. Here are a few of them. (click pix for larger views)

in gorgeousness, kennedys, photographySpecial Olympics Co-Founder Eunice Kennedy Shriver died on this day two years ago.
She never got to know that she had a stepgrandson with the same first name as her father (Joseph P. Kennedy).
Eunice had a sister who had a lobotomy… Joseph has a father who is an idiot.

in Uncategorized, coinkydink, gone, kennedys, little known facts, remembering, sorry -- had toHere we go with the stories about Prince Willy and Kate’s spawn to be, with a screaming Globe header claiming that the emaciated Duchess of Anorexidge has had a miscarriage, an heir-raising tale! But forget that… look at the other story!
America’s own Princess, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg (yep) has rescued “cousin Maria from divorce hell” — and you know that’s the truth!
