The daughter of two screen giants died this week. Judy Lewis, daughter of Clark Gable and Loretta Young, died this week of complications due to lymphoma.
Her birth was kept secret, as Loretta Young, then 22 and a “devout Catholic,” engaged in an extra-marital affair with Gable, carried the child secretly, gave birth to her in secret, and later fake adopted her at 19 months. It wasn’t until Judy was 31 that she learned the full extent of the elaborate coverup. She even had her pronounced ears (just like Gable’s) pinned back in a procedure at age 7. You can see in the clips below that as a young child, her hair was combed over her ears.
She later wrote a book about it. Lewis became a clinical psychologist, specializing in foster care and marriage therapy. She leaves a daughter, two grandsons, and two half-brothers. Here is a tribute to her.
A very demure Gabourey Sidibe as seen at the 2011 National Art Awards at Cipriani last night in NYC.
Gabby is wearing a figure-hugging blue sheath, with slits up the sides (they are not rips) to reveal a darling print skirt underneath. The neckline reveals only her elbow cleavage.
Add a pair of hot red heels and no Spanx, and the look is complete!

If you like to wear turbans or paint your toenails red, you have silent film superstar Pola Negri to thank; she made both a trend.
Negri was at one time the highest-paid woman in America. The press cooked up a rivalry between her and Gloria Swanson. In 1949, Pola turned down the role of Norma Desmond in Sunset Blvd. — it went to Swanson.
She was notorious for fainting of grief several times at Rudolph Valentino’s funeral, and then getting married just nine months later… to a Georgian prince.
Pola made her last film appearance in 1964 in Disney’s “The Moon-Spinners,” for which she did publicity in the company of a surly cheetah.
