Get ready to crack open ya books, or crack sumpin’, because here comes a whole lotta fun — with the new professors of RuPaul’s Drag U” set for summer school, hunty!
This year’s Superstar (for-evah!) Sharon Needles will be on the faculty, scaring up new looks for schlubs who want a change! Prof. Needles will be joined by Mama Chad Michaels, who will undoubtedly give lessons in poise and general ladylike behavior and decorum.
Sharon has your shot!
Rounding out the edumacatrixes will be bad gurl “slut” Willam, who will no doubt lose her tenure before summer school is OUT!
Other drag hags joining include giantess Raven (“It’s only tinted moisturizer”), the deliciously witty Pandora Boxx, Boston’s own Jujubee, the luscious (sarap!) Manila Luzon… (below).
Big gurls Delta Work and “MF’n” Latrice Royale also have some learnin’ for ya, plus Shannel, Mariah, Alexis Mateo, marvelous Morgan McMichaels and last year’s glamah queen, Raja!
VP of Drag Lady Bunny and her giant hair will also return, along with guest judges Donna Mills, Brittany Snow, Holly Robinson-Peete, Joely Fisher and others.
Everyone wonders what Betty keeps in her handbag… and it’s no secret.
Her Launer handbag contains reading glasses, mints, a fountain pen and a small mirror and lipstick, and a hankie… and she does look minty fresh today in that Crest toothpaste color!
This was Betty today at Slaters Terrace Wharf, Burnley, where she rode a barge down the canal as part of her Diamond Jubilee celebration. Can you spot her in the above photo?! That’s Phil in the flasher’s raincoat.
Sharon Needles has won RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 4, and all is right with the world. The weird boy in school, Aaron Coady of the unlikely Newton, Iowa, has been crowned — and we are all better for it. Hooray for the steel mills of Pittsburgh that forged this gorgeousness into an instant legend.
Giving a star-mix of wit and spooky fun, the face of drag is forever changed, as she joins the pantheon of ladyboy greats who sashay their way through the dragalaxy!
Congratulations to Sharon, for gallantly representing triumph over bullies, wit over anger, and gore with the glitz. She is, at once, a star in our bloody hearts!
She’s fun, she’s fabulous, she’s the monarch everyone’s talking about… Betty Deuce celebrates her 86th birthday today, and Her Majesty still has all the glam and giddyup of a gal half her age as she approaches her 60th year on the throne.
Betty is wearing the King George VI State Diadem crown… a mere 1,333 diamonds weighing 327.75 carats, festooned with 169 pearls along the base. Between the four crosses are the rose, thistle and shamrock; symbols of England, Scotland and Ireland. Here’s a better look at it.
Tonight, while you’re out partying, raise a glass to this fabulous queen. And Betty too.
Sometimes dreams really do come true! That handsome man (right) is Boy Culture blogger, Pop Star founder and Encyclopedia Madonnica author Matthew Rettenmund, seen last night with his idol, some woman from Detroit. Madonna!
Matt has been a great friend to your Chexy, linking my stories and being a swell pal and advisor. He has also tormented me at autograph shows while he gets his celebrity “pic withs” and autographs while I take photos like the one above… well, not quite like THAT one. I get to do ones like… Lainie Kazan, which I prefer.
After following and chronicling Madonna’s every move for many years, the opportunity for a photo with her was finally arranged for the internet sweetheart. And he must have heard me saying, “Move back a little, Matt,” because the pic is terrific. Read the story here.
That grand lady of Spain, the Duchess of Alba, Cayetana Fitz-James Stuart, brought her loveliness to the “Orange and Lemon” in Madrid, where they honor the nice and unpleasant celebs.
Europa Press captured this moment of sheer beauty as the Duchess’ dewy makeup reflected in the purple light of a spring night in Spain (apologies to Cole Porter).
In seemingly unrelated beauty news, Sharon Needles won last night’s “Drag Race” Bitch Ball challenge.
Betty Deuce, as lovely as a spring day, popped up in pink in Manchester this weekend, where she visited a local hospital and put in a surprise appearance at the wedding of a commoner.
The bride wrote to Her Majesty when she heard Betty was going to be in the neighborhood on her wedding day as part of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. And sure enough, Betty and Phil dropped by the nuptials! What a PR coup!
Her Majesty is wearing a powder pink that just puts me in the mind of Easter, and she’s wearing that wacky mystery brooch of diamonds and rubies — origin unknown. Even Betty must have her secrets.
It’s been raining all weekend in Los Angeles, so here’s a cheery scene from “Stormy Weather” with the Nicholas Brothers, Harold and Fayard, with Cab Calloway and his big band. They taught Michael Jackson.
