Fabulous drive-in Tiny Naylor’s was built at Sunset and La Brea in Hollywood in 1949, from the mind of googie architect Douglas Honnold.

The coffee shop was founded by W.W. Tiny Naylor, who got his name because of his petite size: 6’4″ and 320 lbs. The Naylor family also founded DuPar’s, which they still own and operate.

The restaurant closed in the early 1980s, and after an attempt by the Los Angeles Conservancy to save it, it was razed to make way for this spectacular El Pollo Loco.
